”QUATRE VENTS” SCHOOL

The school is the support and backdrop of the daily life of children and teachers. We moved the school away from traffic noise from the highway, and we attached it to the south side of the site. The elementary classrooms face the patio, which acts as an acoustic and visual filter. The school is aligned to Santa Madrona street, giving continuity to the facades of the future housing blocks and consolidating the surroundings. The access of the school is from this street, widening the sidewalk to the roundabout in order to guarantee the safety of children entering and exiting the premises. The school is organized on two very compact floors, placing the children’s area on the ground floor and the primary area on the first floor. Independent external access to the children’s area is planned to facilitate the entry and pick-ups of the smallest children. The library also has direct and autonomous access from the outside. The service area (dining room and kitchen) have a separate entrance from the street and away from the main access to the school.
