El Barquillo

At first glance, it seems like a flat, repetitive landscape. But little by little the viewer, like A Collector, discovers a constellation of traces that tell stories: elements of water, vegetation.

Structures, types of cultivation, ruins of settlements, rocks... Water is the main generator of This landscape of gentle slopes that encourages a great diversity of textures and patterns. And above this soft landscape, the high points appear as a succession of landmarks and horizons.

The traditional architecture from the site breathes and pulses. through the interior patio that sometimes becomes a garden.

The boundary between indoor and outdoor, between internal space and external character, blurs.

Light and shadow characterize that place and are reflected on the walls.

The materiality of the “wall” row can be easily qualified by the primary elements and aromas: water, fire, breeze, flowers, trees, geraniums, camellias... The people, the rituality and the event will be the main actors. If we recover the knowledge of local tradition, we will experience and connect to the place without scenery.
