The proposal for the new square of the Tortosa cathedral requires a look at the physical-geographical, monumental-urban and socio-historical context, of a city that has had in its relationship with the Ebro River in a framework of coexistence and urban frontality. The topographic transition between the Suda Castle and the Ebro River has the opportunity to reach the river with a viewing plaza. The intention to understand the Apse Square and the Cathedral Square as part of the same intervention reinforces the idea of the Cathedral as a representative and symbolic façade of the city while articulating the movements and day-to-day use of the neighbourhoods of the old town with its relationship with the river.
